The Requirement:
Background
The Board of Trustees at Mahurangi College wish to engage a main contractor for the Refurbishment of the Gymnasium. The goal is to improve the overall condition of the space, functionality and the passive surveillance.
The works included were the following:
- Refurbishment of the existing Gymnasium changing room, toilet facilities and mezzanine alteration
- New vinyl or carpet floor coverings as appropriate
- New LED lighting
- Fire Doors installation
- Ventilation installation
- Roof Replacement
- Project Consultants

The works included were the following:
Refurbishment of the existing Gymnasium changing room, toilet facilities and mezzanine alteration which should include: – new floor coverings – replacement of any vandalized/damaged wall linings – new shower fittings & associated plumbing – new toilet pans and urinals – new toilet partitions – new sinks and taps
The Contract Works required are:
- Refurbishment of the existing Gymnasium changing room, toilet facilities and mezzanine alteration which should include: – new floor coverings – replacement of any vandalized/damaged wall linings – new shower fittings & associated plumbing – new toilet pans and urinals – new toilet partitions – new sinks and taps
- New vinyl or carpet floor coverings as appropriate in the following areas: – entrance foyer – ground level corridor(s) – upstairs offices & landing – HDU bathroom.
- New LED lighting in the following areas: – entrance foyer – upstairs offices and landing
- Fire Doors installation: – install 2 new fire doors to the gymnasium
- Ventilation installation: – install a new ventilation system in the ‘old gymnasium’ to manage the condensation build-up.
- Reroof: – replace the roof over the changing rooms area and the foyer area
